For my research project I am going to be doing the second option. I am going to be giving my interpretation of the novel I read. I want to point out different things in the text I read that stick out, and things that I think can help improve the text. I want myself and other readers to be able to gain a better understanding of both my interpretation of the text, and the novel itself. I will show connections between my interpretation and the actual novel along with things that I think can make the story better.

After reading this book it made me realise and appreciate all of my freinds and important people in my life. This book made me realise that freinds are people that you can really depend n, treu freinds. Miss Pross and Sydney Carton were real freinds. they made sacrifices and did things for there freinds so they could have better lives. This also made me realise a freind is not just a person you hang out with, but a person that you can trust and count on, and beleive in. I appreciate all of my freinds a whole lot more after reading A Tale Of Two Cities. Miss Pross and Sydney Carton did what they did because they loved the Darnay family, and one who loves is an honest freind.

Dear Sydney Carton,

I want to thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. You have changed my life, you gave my wife and daughter hope for the future. You reunited my family and I could never thank you enough. If it were not for you I would not have been able to watch my precious daughter grow up and one day have a family of her own, which is a really dear thing to a man’s heart. Without you in me and my family’s lives I really don’t know what would of happened to all of us. In this society you may not be considered a noble man but in my eyes for what you did with so much bravery you are so much more than that. We are now back in England living as one big family. Little Lucy is getting older, she is growing up so fast it seems as if it were just yesterday when she was born, kind of scarey but makes you appreciate what you have so much more. We all just wanted to thank you for what you did for all of us. I want to give you a special thanks for giving my daughter a chance to grow up with a mother and a father. We also want you to know we love and are thinking about you. Dr. Manette, Mr. Lorry, Stryver, Jerry Cruncher, Miss. Pross are all doing well and I am not so sure about the Defarges and the Vengeance. But again there is nothing I could ever do to thank you enough or repay you, I just hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for having you a part of such a bad event that took place.

After reading this chapter I really feel like the Defarges set Darnay up. After reading that letter in his trial, they knew exactly what they were doing. It is not Darnays fault for the mistakes of his father and of his uncle. Even though the mistakes of Darnays uncle and father were really bad it wasnt his fault but the Defarges knew that the letter would be just enough evidence to find Darnay guilty and have him be put to death. I beleive that the Defarges have been plotting this the whole time. Now that the nobles do not have a Marquis the nobles are left without any important noblemen, and that is exactly what the Defarges wanted.

I think the Defarges really hate Darnay and the Mannete family. One, is because the Mannetes are richer and are of a higher society or class. Two, Charles Darnay is of course a nobleman, and the Defarges hate nobles thats why they are killing and ploting to kill them. Third, the Defarges are trying to breakup, or seperate the Manette family. In Darnays most recent trial the Defarges used a letter they found in Dr.Manettes prison cell at 105 north tower in Bastille that make Dr. Manette an accuser in Darnays trial denouncing Darnay.

I am glad that Barsard his helping Carton in his plan to help save Darnay but I dont think Barsard is trust worthy. Barsard is a English spy and did already testify against Darnay 13 years earlier in trial for treason. Also the only reason why Barsard is helping Carton is because he threaten to expose Barsards true identity to the Revolutionary, and while Barsard was in Paris he was trying to keep a low profile . He is sneaky and unpredictable. If Barsard didnt talk about Darnay being rearested and Carton didnt over here him i dont think Darnay would of metioned it to anybody close to Darnay.

Lucie and Darnay finally get married and leave for their honeymoon when Dr.Manette goes into a crazy relapse thinking he is back in jail. While Lucie and Darnay are on thier honeymoon Miss Pross, and Mr. Lorry keep close watch over him for 9 days but dont tell Lucie about her fathers relapse. I dont think they handled it in the best way that they could f. I know Lucie is on her honeymoon but anything concerning her dad or her dads well being she needs to know.

After reading these chapters, and looking back I think that Darnay, the death of Roger Cly, the death of Darnays uncle the Marquis and what the road mender saw on the underside of the Marquis’s carriage somehow all connect to each other. Darnay is startting to seem really suspicious to me. I think somehow Darnay is woking with the owner of the wine shop Mr. Defarge and his wife,Madame Defarge ploting to kill certain people

Book the second:The golden Thread Chapters 10-13

In these chapters a transition is made to London where Darnay is a making his living as a French teacher after the death of his uncle ,the Marquis. Darnay goes to see Dr. Manette and admits his true feelings for Lucie and asked him to promise to tell her if she ever asked about his true feelings for her. Also ,Stryver who plans to purpose to her and Carton who tells her he would do anything include give is life to be with her are both competing for her heart.I think after the death of Darnays uncle it has made him realise you never know what can happen so he is starting to get serious about marrying and settling down with Lucie. I think the best canidate for Lucie is Carton, any man willing to give his life for someone really must love that person.

In the book the seond, The Golden Thread, Chapters 1-4 Tellsons bank where Jarvis Lorry is the teller and Jerry Cruncher is the messnger, the bank is described.The way I took the information the bank is described as a old, dirty, washed up bank with old,dirty, washed up people working it. Also in these chapters there is a big court case going on about Darnay being accused of treason. He was later aquited and I agree that he should of been because I didnt think there was not enough evidence that he should of been found guilty.
